Beyond the Fences Art Studio creates a public platform for artwork voluntarily donated by incarcerated artists, using creativity to support organizations serving victims and survivors.
THE MISSION
Creativity with accountability.
The studio is built around a difficult but meaningful idea: incarcerated artists can voluntarily contribute their creative work toward something constructive without minimizing the harm caused by crime.
Artwork is donated by incarcerated artists. Replacement art-supply costs may be covered, while remaining proceeds are directed to victim-support organizations, selected when practical in relation to the category of harm connected to the artist's offense.
Art with a story
Showcase original creative work made by incarcerated artists who choose to contribute it.
Victims first
Use proceeds beyond replacement supply costs to support organizations serving victims and survivors.
Accountability
Make room for constructive action without excusing, minimizing, or rewriting the harm caused by crime.
